We are delighted to announce that the WAE Metropolitan Police iPad Mobility Project has today been named finalist for the Meffys awards’ Innovation in Technology category.

The Meffys recognise commercial success and reward innovation across the mobile ecosystem. Judged by an independent panel of 40 journalists, analysts, accelerators and VCs from around the globe, the winners will be announced at a glittering gala dinner on October 19th 2015 in London at the five-star Rosewood Hotel. Hosted by the legendary multi award-winning musician, beat-boxer and musical mastermind, Beardyman, the official Meffys Awards ceremony will bring together 250 mobile influencers for an evening of industry networking and celebrations.

The competition has attracted entries from over 30 countries across 15 award categories that encompass Innovation, Market and Sector Awards. This year, the Meffys will reward pioneers in Mobile-First Markets, FinTech and Consumer First innovation alongside trailblazers in Consumer Trust, mHealth and Mobile Money, demonstrating the importance of an inclusive, trusted mobile ecosystem which continues to expand across new markets and sectors.

For The Metropolitan Police (The Met) iPad Mobility Project WAE worked in partnership with The Met Mobility Team to develop a pilot system that enhances three key areas of The Met’s Crime Reporting Information System (CRIS) using an iPad mini– enabling officers to quickly and efficiently report crimes and missing persons, collect evidence and record witness statements. With a clear vision to improve the flow of information and help front line officers make urgent decisions on location, WAE implemented collaborative, user-centred methodologies to create an end-to-end mobile service.

Rimma Perelmuter, MEF’s CEO said: “Now in their 12th year, the Meffys are the mobile ecosystem’s established barometer for recognising success and innovation globally. This year’s record number of entries from diverse market sectors and 30 countries demonstrates the continued acceleration of innovation and transformation in the mobile ecosystem.”

“Congratulations to all of the Meffys finalists and thank you to our outstanding international judging panel for their expert insights. We wish everyone good luck and look forward to a momentous industry gathering in London on October 19th — a night not to be missed.”
